The Mastopexy or Pexia Mammary is the technical name for the procedure in which women want to improve the appearance of their breast. This surgical procedure is aimed at women whose breasts have lost firmness or for some reason have been dropped.

What motivates a woman to perform a breast lift?
There is a lot of motives or reasons why a woman could have to perform a breast lift surgery. Some of the most important are:
- Loss of firmness due to the Lactation.
- To enhance the breasts after pregnancy.
- After a severe weight loss.
- When the breasts are not symmetrical (they have different shape).
- To re-build the breast after an injury.

How is this surgery performed?
There are several different techniques that the Surgeon could choose in order to perform the surgery. The choice of a technique in particular depends much on how fallen are the breasts of the patient.
For example, sometimes is performed a surgery that only leaves a scar around the areola. Sometimes it is necessary the use of a silicone gel implant to achieve the desired repositioning. Everything depends on the specific assessment of the case made by the surgeon.
