The Breast Mammoplastia commonly known as Breast Augmentation is a Plastic Surgery intended to improve the size and shape of breasts. In this procedure it is necessary to introduce some implants in the patient body for getting the expected results.

Reasons for a Breast Augmentation Surgery
There is a lot of different motivations for the women to look forward this surgery. Some of the most important reasons are:
- Improve the body appareance in a woman that thinks that her breasts are too small.
- To correct the size of breast after the pregnancy.
- To balance a difference in the size of one breast.
- As a reconstructive procedure after cancer surgery.

What kind of Lab Exams are required before the Surgery?
With the purpose to avoid any risk, it is really important that your Plastic Surgeon ask you for lab exams like:
- Coagulation Times: Cto analyse the tolerance to blooding.
- Sugar Levels: to analyze the healing possibilities and prevent infection problems.

Will I have lactation limitations or sensibility problems after the Surgery?
The Breast Augmentation procedure performed by Camilo Prieto DOES NOT INTERFERE with lactation of the mammar gland. In other words, the patient will be able to lactate after the surgery without any kind of problem.
This surgery does not affect the sensibility of the nipple.

How is the Breast Augmentation done by Camilo Prieto?
Camilo Prieto uses a technic in which the upper portion of the implant is located behind the muscle and the lower portion behind the mammar gland (Image 4). This disposition let achieve that the final result could be absolutely natural.
There is another possibility for locating the implant: to put it directly behind the mammar gland (see image 5). This option is faster and easier to perform, however, it is not recommended by Camilo Prieto because the final result could be too artificial.

How to determine the Size of the Implant?
To calculate the size of implant that is going to be used in the surgery, the expectations and desires of the patients are considerated. The Plastic Surgeon must have some Aesthethic considerations to avoid that the final result could be out of proportion with the contexture and height of the patient.

Recommendation to Avoid any problem
The Breast Augmentation Surgery, like any other plastic surgery, could have some risks. Something important to take in mind to avoid problems:
- Verify that your Plastic Surgeon is a member of Colombian Plastic Surgery Society
- Follow carefully all the recommendations given by your plastic surgeon.
- Make sure that the procedure is practiced in a hospital completely equipped, not in the doctor's office.
- Ask your Plastic Surgeon to show photographies of the result of previous surgeries done by him/her.

How long can take the surgery?
The Breast Augmentation Surgery usually takes from one to two hours. This is an ambulatory procedure that could be done on a weekend. It has a very low risk as long as the patient follows strictly the recommendation given by the Plastic Surgeon.
